Councillors Urge Public to Have Their Say on Draft Aotea Square Design

Today two City Vision-Labour Auckland City Councillors attended a media briefing on the draft design for Aotea Square. The design is available for public consultation from tomorrow (Thursday 10 July) and Councillors Leila Boyle and Graeme Easte urge people to have their say by the time the consultation period closes at 5pm on Friday 1 August.

C&R Council finds Budget Surplus by Cutting Core Spending

City Vision-Labour councillors today were disappointed and dismayed as Citizens and Ratepayers (C&R) councillors ignored the wishes of the majority of submitters who asked councillors not to cut core council budgets for stormwater infrastructure, footpaths, volcanic cone protection, street cleaning, walking and cycling improvements, and school safety projects and initiatives for road safety and amenity improvements for cyclists and pedestrians (livable streets).

C&R Reject Greater Heritage Assistance

Citizens and Ratepayers (C&R) councillors on Auckland City Council's City Development Committee today knocked back an attempt by City Vision's Glenda Fryer to increase spending on built and natural heritage from $50,000 to $600,000 and $50,000 to $100,000 respectively.

Eden-Albert Auckland City Councillors today congratulated Transit for its decision to build a tunnel for the extension of SH20 through their ward in an attempt to minimise the disruption of the new motorway to the local communities.
